The selection and quality of the real ales has given The Black Horse CAMERA recognition and Cask Marque accreditation. Up to five real ales are available, comprising of three regulars, Whitby's Black Dog Rhatas, Adnams Bitter, Taylors Landlord, plus two rapidly changing guests.
The Black Horse is listed in CAMRA's The Good Beer Guide, and was voted Cleveland CAMERA's pub of the season Spring 2007. In 2008 The Black Horse also won the regional final of the Punch Shine Awards for 'Best Drinks Experience' beating off competition from over 800 pubs in the North East region from Berwick right down to York!
